This orientation session will introduce participants to vinyl cutting, Cricut operation, heat pressing, sublimation printing and related software in the library. This orientation session is mandatory before patrons can schedule time to use a vinyl cutter, Cricut machine, sublimation printer, or a heat press.

Book Buddies is a free program that brings children and teen volunteers together to share the joy of reading. It pairs trained volunteers (Big Buddies) with children in Kindergarten through 3rd grades (Little Buddies). For 10 weeks, the Buddies meet once a week in the afternoon for 45 minutes of one-on-one shared reading.

The Spring cycle of Book Buddies will run from February19th to April 30th.  Reading sessions will be in the library meeting room.

Join us for a community event to watch emerging young artists display their poetry and compete for a spot on the Meta4 Slam poetry team! Anyone is welcome to watch these amazing poets! 

What is a slam?

A poetry slam is a competitive event in which poets perform spoken word poetry before a live audience and a panel of judges. Slams can be loud and lively, with audience participation, cheering and dramatic delivery.

Looking for homework help? Come on in to your local library to find the resources you need for success! Aldine Library will offer a quiet space for teens and kids on Thursdays @ 5:30 PM. Librarians will be on hand to provide assistance.

Harris County Public Library offers a variety of free resources, including computers, printers, and access to special research websites available with your library card.
