Learn how to book time with the Kingwood Library’s Cricut! This orientation session will introduce participants to using the Cricut in the library. Those who complete the class will then be able to request time to use a Cricut at HCPL branches, at which time they will complete a short machine-specific orientation at the location of their choice. Attending this orientation is mandatory before patrons can request time to use a Cricut.

This event is open to those ages 13 and older. Teens ages 13-16 must be accompanied by an adult guardian. Registration is required.

Book Buddies is a FREE literacy program that brings child and teens together to share the joy of reading. It pairs trained teen volunteers (Big Buddies) with children in K-3rd grades (Little Buddies).

Each Wednesday for 10 weeks, Big Buddies and Little Buddies will meet to read together and create positive experiences surrounding literacy. By the end of the session, we aspire that all Little Buddies will learn to love to read and form positive associations with reading.

Calling all plant lovers! We're having a community plant swap at the Spring Branch-Memorial Branch Library! 
You're invited to join us to trade seeds, plant cuttings, propagations, and plants! Register to let us know you plan to attend.

This is a free event. Selling of plants/cuttings/seedlings is prohibited.

To ensure there is enough space, please do not bring more than 10 plants/cuttings/propagations or seedlings.

Bring unwanted plants, pots, seeds, or other gardening items to swap with other plant enthusiasts.

Guidelines:

This is not your regular prom--it's a Library Prom! You can wear formal wear, cosplay, or whatever feels comfortable. Enjoy music, photo ops, food, and creative activities throughout the event. Whether you love the dance floor or prefer to chill in the Sensory Room with crafts and games, this is your night to shine. Free and open to all teens—no date required!

This program is for ages 13-18. Permission slips are required and will be available March 12th. 

🍫🪱 Teens Cook: Dirt Cake! 🪱🍫

It might look like dirt… but it tastes AMAZING. 😋

Teens, come recreate the iconic Dirt Cake from the TV show Ruby and Max! Layer crushed cookies, creamy pudding, and gummy worms to make a dessert that’s messy, hilarious, and seriously delicious.

Grab your friends, get creative with your “dirt,” and see who can make the coolest (and tastiest) cake.

Feeling a little stress with finals and standardized testing coming up? De-stress by making bouncy balls at the Fairbanks Library. We will be using Borax.
