Get creative and bring your imagination to life with Graph Paper Pixel Art! Design colorful pictures one square at a time and discover how simple shapes can become amazing works of art. Join us for a fun, hands-on activity where you can create, share, and enjoy your own pixel-perfect masterpiece!

Book Buddies is a FREE literacy program that brings child and teens together to share the joy of reading. It pairs trained teen volunteers (Big Buddies) with children in K-3rd grades (Little Buddies).

Each Wednesday for 10 weeks, Big Buddies and Little Buddies will meet to read together and create positive experiences surrounding literacy. By the end of the session, we aspire that all Little Buddies will learn to love to read and form positive associations with reading.

This orientation session will introduce participants to 3D printing services within the Harris County Public Library system. Those completing the class will then be able to schedule a time to use a 3D printer at HCPL locations, during which time they will complete a short machine-specific orientation at the location of their choice. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Attendees will receive 3D Printer and Lulzbot Mini 2 (machine) badges in Beanstack upon completion of orientation.

This will be a ticketed program. To enter the program, you must have a ticket!
Pick up your ticket at the front desk. Tickets are free and available at 3:30pm, 30 minutes before the show starts. Tickets are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so please plan accordingly. You must be here in person to redeem a ticket. 

Join us in the library parking lot for lots of treats, a few tricks, and plenty of Halloween fun. Dress up in your favorite costume, explore creatively decorated trunks, and enjoy a festive evening with family, friends, and neighbors. Fun for all ages!

Krafty Kids is a whimsical environment where children can express their creativity through a variety of artistic activities, ranging from painting to sculpting. With an extensive selection of supplies and guided sessions, kids have the opportunity to explore their talents and craft unique masterpieces to take home. Join us every Wednesday at 3:45 PM for an inspiring creative adventure! In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, let's celebrate with a fun craft and create an Alebrijes shadow box masterpiece!
