Books Alive adapts children's literature into fully staged original 45-minute musicals, carefully honoring the author’s message and encouraging students to develop a love of books while often providing their first opportunity to see live theater. Crafted and performed by a professional troupe, productions are big & engaging, fun & entertaining for all ages.

Magician John O’Bryant will be visiting LSC-Tomball Community Library and you don’t want to miss it! His ALL NEW Summer Reading Magic Show for 2026 is packed with mind-blowing magic, dazzling illusions, and plenty of laugh-out-loud surprises. Come see the impossible happen right before your eyes!
John’s high-energy shows have made him a crowd favorite at libraries across Texas and he is a featured family magician at the LOL Comedy Club and SeaWorld Adventure Parks. Join us, and be part of the excitement at the library!
Get up close with some of your favorite animals at Marsha’s Petting Zoo! During this all ages program, families will have the chance to pet a variety of fun farm animals!
This program is outside on the South Lawn, so come prepared for the summer heat!

Learn more about some of your favorite animals with our friends from Wild Things Zoofari! During this show, they will show different kinds of exotic and native animals and share fun facts about each of them!
Note: Program attendees will not be able to touch the animals. All ages are welcome, but this is an informational program best suited for elementary aged kids.
This FREE Art Camp is a program in partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts Houston (MFAH) that has been available at HCPL branches since Summer 2000. This program is made available to us for free, thanks to grants that the MFAH receives. With this program six library branches per year take advantage of week-long summer art camp in which teachers from the prestigious MFAH Glassell school for the Arts come in to teach kids ages 6-12 art classes (10am – 12pm) for four days in the selected week (Mon-Thurs) culminating in a free field trip on Friday (bus provided) to the museum!
