Book Buddies is a free program that brings children and volunteers together to share the joy of reading. It pairs trained volunteers (Big Buddies) with children in kindergarten through 3rd grades (Little Buddies). For 10 weeks, the Buddies meet once a week in the afternoon for 45 minutes of one-on-one shared reading.
Book Buddies is a FREE literacy program that brings child and teens together to share the joy of reading. It pairs trained teen volunteers (Big Buddies) with children in K-3rd grades (Little Buddies).
Each Wednesday for 10 weeks, Big Buddies and Little Buddies will meet to read together and create positive experiences surrounding literacy. By the end of the session, we aspire that all Little Buddies will learn to love to read and form positive associations with reading.
Sunshine Baby Time is an early literacy program for babies up to 18 months and their caregivers. Please join us as we share early literacy tips, stories, songs, and fun!
Join us for our Pipe Cleaner Crafts series where each month, you'll have the chance to explore your creativity and make a variety of fun projects using pipe cleaners. Whether it's hearts, animals or jewelry, you'll be amazed by what you can do with just those fuzzy little sticks! This hands-on program is sure to offer something for crafters of all ages. Sign up for this exciting program hosted by the Environmental Community Advocates of Galena Park. From November 16th to 20th, students can join air monitoring experts to become clean air advocates. Join us for Preschool Story Time, an early literacy program featuring stories, songs, and a fun craft! This program is for children ages 3-6 years old and their caregivers.
In order to ensure the safety of our youngest patrons, this is a ticketed program. Free tickets available in the library on the morning of the program. First come, first served.

This program bring hands-on STEAM fun to the community. Through creative, team-based challenges, children will explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math in an engaging and interactive environment. Our programs encourage creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and imagination while making learning fun for all.

Harris County Public Library’s Book Buddies is a FREE, fun-filled literacy program that pairs enthusiastic, trained teen volunteers (our amazing Big Buddies) with younger readers (Little Buddies) for 9 weeks of reading adventures!
Reading Sessions begin: Mondays | 4:45 PM – 5:30 PM
Join us on Wednesdays at 11:00 am for Toddler Story Time! This 30-minute Story Time is designed for toddlers aged 1 to 3 years old. We meet in the children's area to share books, songs, rhymes, and more! After Story Time, the toy cabinets are opened and the children are invited to stay and play. It's a great way to meet other caregivers and give your toddler a chance to socialize.
Siblings are always welcome.
We meet in the children's area where the picture books and campfire rug are located.
