Bring the whole family to South Houston Library for a night of board games, laughs, and some friendly competition! Games include Uno, Monopoly, Candyland, Sorry, Connect 4 and more! This program is for families and all ages.

Come experiment with coding and robotics at the South Houston library! We will be using beginner level programming to guide the Sphero robot through creative challenges! 

No experience is required. This program is for ages 12-18 years old.

Book Buddies is a free program that brings children and teen volunteers together to share the joy of reading. It pairs trained volunteers (Big Buddies) with children in Kindergarten through 3rd grades (Little Buddies). For 10 weeks, the Buddies meet once a week in the afternoon for 45 minutes of one-on-one shared reading.

The Spring cycle of Book Buddies will run from February19th to April 30th.  Reading sessions will be in the library meeting room.

The Next Chapter Classics Revisited continues Thursday, April 23 at 10:15 AM in our upstairs Innovation Lab Classroom. We look forward to showing The Dark Knight, the 2008 superhero action epic. This film stars Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, Aaron Eckhart, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Gary Oldman. Rated PG-13, The Dark Knight lasts 2 hours, 32 minutes. This film includes Closed Captions.

Join us each month as we cover topics specifically designed to outline fundamentals that everyone can use in their family history search. Join with other toddlers and parents/caregivers for weekly story time fun! Toddler Time uses age appropriate stories, songs and finger plays to engage toddlers and their parents/caregivers. This story time is geared towards toddlers ages 18 months through 3 years.

Tickets are required and will be handed out at the Children's Desk starting 30 minutes prior. Children must have a ticket to attend Toddler Time.
