Join us every Tuesday at 10:30 am for stories, songs, fingerplays and crafts using best practices of the Every Child Ready to Read program. You and your children will have fun while honing skills necessary to be ready to read!

Need help preparing your taxes? AARP will prepare your taxes for FREE!

Available only on Mondays and Fridays from 10AM to 2PM.

You will need to bring:

  1. the completed AARP tax packet (available at the library),
  2. a driver's license/state ID,
  3. social security card, and
  4. any relevant tax information/forms.

This program is first come, first serve for walk-ins.

This year AARP will also offer appointments. Appointments can be made over the phone or in-person.

Join us weekly on Wednesdays from 2:00PM to 3:30PM to practice speaking English with other learners. Please register for the class by filling out a student application at our front desk.

Please Join Us As We Celebrate Texas America 250 with a Special Open House at the Fairbanks Branch Library on Saturday, March 14th, from 10 am to noon.  There is something for everyone as we celebrate our library hosting the Texas State Library & Archives Commission's Texas America 250 traveling exhibit. 

While exploring the exhibit, pick up a free kids' fun pack, including a free Open Door pass for a family of 6 to visit the Children's Museum of Houston while supplies last.

Pick a book and share it one on one with a furry friend from The Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dogs, Inc.! You can bring a favorite book from home, or select a book from our library shelves and take some time to Paws and Read together!

This program is for kids ages 4-12 and their parents. Registration is required and begins online one week prior.

Join with other toddlers and parents/caregivers for weekly story time fun! Toddler Time uses age appropriate stories, songs and finger plays to engage toddlers and their parents/caregivers. This story time is geared towards toddlers ages 18 months through 3 years.

Tickets are required and will be handed out at the Children's Desk starting 30 minutes prior. Children must have a ticket to attend Toddler Time.

Adults – we welcome you to join us in the upstairs Innovation Lab Classroom on Thursday, March 19 at 10:15 AM to the Next Chapter’s presentation in the Lone Star Flight Museum Lecture Series. Ronnie Alford looks forward to presenting "Rosie the Riveter – An Iconic Symbol of Women's Wartime Contributions.” This free event requires no registration. 

Light refreshments will be provided by the Friends of Freeman Library.
