This class is for people who already know a little about using a computer and want to learn Microsoft Excel. Over 6 weeks, we will practice navigating the grid, formatting with color and borders, sorting lists alphabetically, and using tools to let the computer do the math for you! The class meets one hour per week and is hands-on, beginner-friendly, and focused on learning skills by doing practical but fun projects.

Join us on the first and third Thursdays of the month at Inklings, our teen creative writing club. Bring your writing to share and get feedback from other teens. Any kind of writing is welcome, from short stories to fanfiction, poetry to novels! This program is open to ages 12-17, 18 if in high school. Email virginia.gonzalez@hcpl.net for more information.

Come explore mythology and folklore from around the world. We will delve into stories and activities about gods, heroes and mythical creatures. Join us in April as we learn about the legends of King Arthur!

This program is for kids ages 7-11. Registration is required and begins online one week prior.

Promotes early literacy skills. The program features reading, singing, talking, writing and playing. We will help give you the resources you need to expand your child’s skills, preparing them to read. Recommended for children ages 2-5 years, it features age appropriate stories, songs, and fingerplays. Story time is an excellent way to bond with your child, boost their vocabulary, and hopefully raise a lifelong reader. Studies have shown that regularly reading to your child can increase their attention span, boost their emotional intelligence, and flex their imagination.
