The South Houston Branch Library is proud to be collaborating with the local animal shelter for a 2-hour event!
During this event, teens will have the opportunity to collaborate with one another in making improvements to the animal shelter. Come join us to see the hard work that goes into running a shelter. Anyone ages 14-18 is welcome to participate. With the help of The Bridge Over Troubled Waters staff, the library will be able to provide a ride to and from the animal shelter. All we ask is that you register in person at the library beforehand!

We welcome ages 8 and up to join us for a conversation and interactive session, as we shed light on period issues, period poverty, and period hygiene and how it impacts the lives of so many. Hosted by Jane's Special packs, a non-profit inspiring women everywhere to break the silence and foster a community that advocates for period equity.
The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is an opportunity for teenagers to voice their ideas and opinions regarding library programs. Participation can be used for community service hours.
You don't need a library card to participate in this meeting. You also do not need to register, just show up!
Ages 14-18.
This meeting we will be helping with the Summer Kickoff Party, then having a pizza party afterwards!

Youth grades 4th – 12th will learn how to transform spontaneous ideas from improv games into structured story concepts. Through creative collaboration and quick-thinking exercises, participants explore how characters, conflicts, and resolutions come together to form compelling narratives. By the end of the session, students will present and “pitch” their original play concept as if selling it to a streaming service - building confidence, teamwork, and communication skills along the way. Tickets required and will be available 30 minutes before the program.
