Unleash your creativity! Join us in the Fairbanks Library meeting room on Thursday, December 18 from 4:30-5:30 pm for a popsicle stick nutcracker painting workshop — fun, festive, and perfect for all ages! A Young Audiences of Houston teaching artist will help participants to design and decorate their own nutcracker ornaments to take home, learning simple painting techniques along the way. Makes a great gift!

Our tutor will be hosting a virtual Advanced English class on Mondays and Wednesdays from 11 AM-12:30 PM. Space is limited. Registration is required. To register, please email, call, or stop by our library. 

Join with other babies and parents/caregivers for weekly story time fun! Baby Storytime uses songs, age appropriate stories, and playtime to engage both babies and their parents/caregivers. This story time is geared towards newborns through 18 months.

Join us for advanced Spanish! This class is designed for patrons who are already familiar with Spanish and would deem themselves to be at an advanced level. This class will meet on Monday afternoons from 2 PM- 3PM. It is a free class taught by our amazing tutor, Naheily.

Get crafty this holiday season and design your very own farmhouse-style Christmas sign! In this hands-on Cricut workshop, you’ll learn how to design, and assemble a festive sign that’s perfect for decorating your home.

Join us for Trivia Night! Our topic this month is Jane Austen. In honor of the author's 250th birthday, trivia questions will be about her life and her books! Doors open at 6:00pm. Groups can be from 2-5. Solos are welcome! Online registration required. For questions, call or inquire at the front desk.

This class is designed for students who are interested in learning and /or practicing speaking, listening, writing, and reading skills in English. Classes are free and all materials are provided.

Promotes early literacy skills. The program features reading, singing, talking, writing and playing. We will help give you the resources you need to expand your child’s skills, preparing them to read. Recommended for children ages 2-5 years, it features age appropriate stories, songs, and fingerplays. Story time is an excellent way to bond with your child, boost their vocabulary, and hopefully raise a lifelong reader. Studies have shown that regularly reading to your child can increase their attention span, boost their emotional intelligence, and flex their imagination.
