Get up close and hands-on at an exciting interactive animal session with The Creature Teacher!

Join us on Thursday, June 25th at 2:00 PM at the San Jacinto Community Center (604 Highland Woods Dr., Highlands, TX 77562) for a wild and educational experience the whole family will enjoy.

Meet a variety of fascinating animals and learn all about their habitats, behaviors, and unique traits in an engaging, up-close setting. This interactive program encourages curiosity, questions, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

Join us for the 1st Tuesday of the month at 4:45 to create and build with LEGOs!
We will have the option of LEGO challenges or free build during our building session. At the end of our session, you can share and display your creations at the JC Library for the month. 

*This program is for ages 6-12 but siblings are always welcome.

This fun and interactive program introduces Shyrana Saurus-Rex, a shy but lovable dinosaur who needs a little help finding her voice. With encouragement from her friends and the audience, Shyrana discovers that courage and confidence can grow from within. Children are invited to join the adventure as they help her overcome her fears and learn that even the quietest voices can be strong.

Learn more about the wildlife that comes out at night - more specifically, owls! A ranger will walk kids through an owl pellet dissection where you will learn first-hand the biology behind these magnificent creatures and how they fit into the food web of the forest. Registration is required.

Wear your fancy clothes and join us for an art-inspired tea party with snacks and a craft! This Tea Party is for children ages 4-8 years old. 

Space is limited, tickets are required. Free tickets will be handed out at the Children's Reference Desk beginning on Wednesday July 1st.

Ancient Egypt with Minecraft Code Knights 

Journey back in time to the banks of the mighty Nile River! In this immersive 1.5-hour program, kids will explore a vast, hand-crafted world featuring an enormous pyramid, a bustling desert town, and traditional sailing ships. Become Egyptologists and deciper hidden clues, sovle simple puzzles within ancient chambers, and discover the stories and treasures of a lost civilzation. It’s a thrilling adventure that blends history, exploration, and problem-solving in a captivating digital landscape. For kids ages 8-12.

Come see real live snakes up close! Join us as we learn about the various species of snakes in Texas and the surrounding region. If you're lucky, you might just get to touch a snake! For ages 8-12 years old.
