Whether you've never touched a tile in your life or you've played all kinds of versions, come play American Mah-jongg with us! There will be a table for complete beginners and there will be a table for open play. If you already have a set and you just want to play with people, there will be open tables to play on. All supplies and snacks will be provided. This program is intended for adults 18+.

Join us for an out-of-this-world visit from Orbit, the Houston Astros’ mascot! Orbit will be swinging by Bear Creek to share his love of reading and libraries during this fun program for children.
This program will be held in the children's area of the library. No ticket required, but due to limited space, seating is on a first come, first served basis!

Join Teaching Artist Joseph Dixon for an inclusive and engaging performance that combines storytelling and music to promote acceptance, respect, and teamwork. Participants will learn the three main parts of a story and explore the history of percussion instruments like the Djembe. At the end of the session, audience members will be invited to join in a live community drum circle using instruments from various cultures!
This program is geared towards children in 1st-5th grades.
Join us at the library for a special edition of Savvy Stichers! Our guest artist Norola Morgan will be coming to the branch to teach us about the historic art of 9 patch quilting. This program is designed for beginners to quilting so if you always have wanted to learn the art, come on in and learn! All supplies will be provided (you can take home your creation as well) and some snacks will be available.
