Teens ages 12-18 can learn how to create a character for playing the popular roleplaying game Dungeons & Dragons at the Spring Branch-Memorial Branch Library on Saturday, July 25th at 3:00 PM! All supplies will be provided, but you are welcome to bring your own dice and wear a costume!

Every child has an artist inside them! At our Art Club, they will enjoy a variety of activities whether it be painting, drawing, coloring and much more! All materials provided.

The library is bringing the wonders of the Houston Museum of Natural Science to you for one day only! Join us for special presentations by professional museum staff as they compare two prehistoric apex predators from the land and the sea!

Attendees will learn more about these ancient creatures with educational presentations and hands-on opportunities with museum materials.

Starting at 12:00pm, museum staff will give 30 minute classes throughout the day until 4:00pm. Presentations will be in the 1st floor Meeting Room.

Want a place to play chess with your peers?

Join Spring Branch-Memorial Library’s Tween & Teen Chess Club!

Anyone ages 8-18 can join us on the 1st Thursday of each month. In July we are meeting at 3:30 PM because the library is closing early on Thursday, July 3rd for the Independence Day holiday.

This orientation session is intended for teen volunteers and a completed, intact, and ready application packet is required to be admitted to the orientation.  To apply to be a teen volunteer at the HCPL-West University Branch Library, applicants must: complete an application packet, be between the ages of 15-18, have their guardian’s permission, attend one orientation session. During this hour-long session, volunteers will learn their role in the library, train in skills such as shelving, and finalize their schedules for volunteer hours.
