SPECIAL EVENT: Mandarin Chinese Storytime
Overview:
欢迎您于 5 月 6 日（周三）上午 10:15 前来图书馆，参加由 Crossing Borders International School 的教育工作者特别呈现的普通话故事会。本次故事会旨在通过沉浸式的讲故事体验，鼓励双语能力的培养。
Asian Pacific Islander Heritage
Film is Rated: PG-13. Duration 96 minutes. Come watch Jo Koy as a struggling actor, comedian, and single father who attends a gathering of his loud and dysfunctional Filipino American family on Easter Sunday.
Join us for All Ages- Family Program every Thursday from 11-12pm.
Together Time Weekly Themes:

- MAY 28- Rock Art
These programs will have use of scissors. Children must be supervised and with an adult at all times.

Kumihimo is a form of Japanese Yarn Braiding. We will be using 8 pieces of satin cord and a homemade kumihimo disk to make the bracelets. The process is very simple and repetitive involving switching 2 strands of cords and turning each time.
Materials are provided. This program is only for adults ages 18+

"Kaminari Taiko is a Japanese drumming ensemble based in Houston, Texas. We share the spirit of taiko with audiences large and small through high-energy performances that fuse traditional instruments with modern rhythms."

Join us for an AAPI Heritage Month celebration featuring booths and live performances highlighting the diversity of Asian and Pacific Islander heritage.
Come watch a movie in the teen space and eat delicious snacks! Movie rotates monthly; May's movie is Crazy Rich Asians (rating: PG-13) to celebrate Asian American Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Popcorn and drinks will be provided. This program is open to ages 12-17, 18 if in high school.
Experience the sights and sounds of traditional Japanese Taiko drums and modern instruments to create a cultural thunderstorm of rhythm and energy! Brought to you by Kaminari Taiko, a drum ensemble based here in Houston and the Friends of the Fairbanks Library. Come feel inspired as we celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage month at Fairbanks!
