Excavate some excitement this summer at this weekly arts and crafts program! Each week we'll create a new work of art and learn about archaeology, dinosaurs, and history along the way. 

This program is designed for tweens and teens ages 12 to 18.

Registration is not required, but supplies and space may be limited.

Join Ms. Tina for an interactive bilingual storytime featuring stories in both English and Spanish. Children will enjoy engaging activities, songs, and dinosaur-themed stories while building language and literacy skills.

Each week features a different theme -- we'll have some inspiration and supplies ready for you! But feel free to create something else if you'd like.

Want pointers on painting techniques? We'll do our best to help! But please keep in mind that this is not an art class -- it's a chance to be creative and relax while enjoying each other's company in an encouraging environment.

There will be a brief lesson for beginners at the beginning of the session. Each class go over the following:

  1. How each chess pieces move
  2. Chess rules
  3. Review how to use a chess clock
  4. How to use notation
  5. How to set up the chess board
  6. Discuss special moves
  7. Describe check and checkmate
  8. Review chess principals
  9. Cover minor tactics
  10. Discuss end game principals
  11. Then members will get a chance to play each other

Create a diamond art masterpiece! Work on a diamond art kit alongside your fellow crafters. All supplies will be provided and stored at the library until your artwork is finished. Kits that have not been used for 2 meetings will be available to new members.

**Please note that due to limited supplies, each patron will get to make (1) item.

Join us for a fun Cricut workshop where you’ll create a T-Rex head. Using precut parts, you will be able to assemble and create the T-Rex Head with cardboard. You will be using yours hands and glue or tape to create your Dino T-rex head.

All materials are provided, and no experience is needed. Leave with a one-of-a-kind wall decoration that you make.
