Step into the Literacy League, where stories come to life!

Our Chapter Champions (teens) are ready to guide your Story Seekers (children; grades K-3rd) through the wonders of the written word in stories, information, and books.

The Literacy League is a literacy program to provide teen mentorship and guidance to K-3rd graders pursuant to establishing and promoting a culture of literacy and books at the library and beyond into their home Reading Refuge.

Join us every Tuesday at 10:30 am for stories, songs, fingerplays and crafts using best practices of the Every Child Ready to Read program. You and your children will have fun while honing skills necessary to be ready to read!

Do you knit, crochet, or find yourself with another yarn-related hobby? Join us for a cozy evening of creativity, where you can share your passion for knitting and crochet with fellow enthusiasts.

Bring your current project or try the featured project of the month. Whether you're looking to refine your skills or simply spend time in a welcoming environment, our club offers the perfect opportunity to connect and inspire one another.

Join us for our Poetry Coffeehouse on April 5th to help us celebrate National Poetry Month! Bring your favorite poem, passage from a book, or other written work to share with the coffeehouse. Original or not, all works welcome!

Coffee and snacks provided.

Participants volunteer to lead discussions and they pick the material. Normally they will propose a title and everyone agrees. This is a laid back but serious group.  They meet in person, February - November.

Get ready for a fast-paced, high-energy program packed with egg-themed mini games! Compete in fun challenges and win awesome prizes while hanging out with friends.

For teens in grades 6-12. Registration is not required. 

New to journaling? Already love it and want to connect with others?

Join us for Freeman Scribblers, a relaxed, creative space where we’ll explore different journaling styles and techniques for all kinds of writers — from beginners to seasoned journalers.

Some materials will be provided.  Participants are encouraged to bring a blank or recurring journal and any favorite journaling supplies they’d like to use.

With no assigned book or group discussion, Introvert Happy Hour Book Club is ideal for those who want the community of a book club without the homework, conversation, and social pressure. Please join us in the Upstairs Conference Room on the second Monday of the month to read silently as a group without any discussion and enjoy light refreshments provided by the Friends of Freeman Library. The door opens at 6:00 PM.

No registration is necessary for this free program.

This orientation session will introduce participants to Cricut operation and software in the library. This orientation session is mandatory before patrons can schedule time to use the Cricut.

• This class is appropriate for ages 8 and up.
• Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
• Registration required.
