Join our Tween Book Club here at the Barbara Bush Branch Library! We will discuss a new book every month paired with a fun activity.

The book for July will be Camp Scare by Delilah S. Dawson.

Popcorn is, of course, provided! You may bring you own snacks too.

This class is for people who already know a little about using a computer and want to learn how to create PowerPoint presentations and design beautiful projects in Canva. Over 6 weeks, we will practice choosing slide layouts, adding and formatting personal photos, exploring professional design templates, and creating fun projects like digital photo albums, custom greeting cards, and event flyers. The class meets one hour per week and is hands-on, beginner-friendly, and focused on learning skills by doing practical but fun projects.

Join us for a DINO-MITE film festival every Friday.

1:00 to 3:30 p.m., kids under 10 can enjoy fun, age-appropriate dinosaur themed cartoons and movies.

3:30 to 6:00 p.m., tweens and adults can experience thrilling dinosaur adventures.

It's a ROARING good time for all ages!

Join us Saturday July 18th from 2 to 4 pm in the library conference room for a workshop that is sure to inspire readers and writers alike! Debut Author, Michael McGehee will share his personal experience and journey of bringing his novel, Eulogy for the Stripes to life; from the first idea to finished novel. The Workshop will explore how real-world concerns, personal experience and discipline helped shape his novel and showcase the creative process that can help and inspire others wanting to write a book, or just interested in the story behind the story.

Presented by Artist Boat, Eco-Art Camp will unearth the secrets hidden at the bottom of the ocean.  During this weeklong camp at the library, students will experience hands-on activities and art creation to understand “Benthic Communities” or what is at the bottom of the ocean. Participants will create watercolor seascapes, glow in the dark acrylic portraits of deep ocean dwelling organisms and create coral models out of clay.

Recommended for children ages 3-7 years, it features age appropriate stories, songs, and fingerplays about Backyard Bugs. Every child will get to make a special bug finger puppet craft. Tickets will be provided 30 minutes before the program at the information desk. Space is limited.
