Join us each month for our Kids Craft & STEM Days, designed especially for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. Participants will enjoy hands-on craft activities that spark creativity, plus one exciting STEM program each month where kids can experiment, build, and discover through science, technology, engineering, and math.
Join us for our Tween Book Club! We will discuss the book of the month, have snacks, and enjoy book related activities. This month we will be reading "How High the Moon?" by Karyn Parsons.
On Friday, July 10th, we will discuss the first half of the book (approx. up to page 144).
On Friday, July 24th, we will discuss the rest of the book.
This book club is intended for children ages 8-12. Online registration is required; space is limited.
Join us to make your very own pet rock! With a bit of paint, some googly eyes, and your creative touch, you'll have your very own pet rock in no time!
*Tickets are required for all programs, unless otherwise noted. They are free and available 30 minutes before the program begins at the children's reference desk. Tickets are limited and offered on a first come first serve basis. Lines for the tickets sometimes form before the tickets are distributed. This performance is inspired by two of the oldest forms of communication—the drum and the human voice. It explores the origins and history of African percussion and Spirituals from Americans of African descent. Students learn about traditional African drums such as the Djembe, Ashiko, and Dun Dun, as well as the Congolese Tumbadora.
Come explore the history and meanings behind Spirituals; learn how rivers, locomotives, and the Big Dipper symbolized freedom! Get hands on experience creating rhythms representing the life cycle of a river.

Discovery Time with Miss Christine is a fun and engaging story time for the whole family! Each week, we build literacy skills through the five essential practices: playing, singing, talking, reading, and writing.
For: Pre-School & Elementary (ages 3 to 10 years old). Younger siblings may participate with the active support of a parent or caregiver as long as they do not disrupt the program.
How to Attend:
On Monday, July 27th, the Katy Fire Fighter Department will be visiting from 4-5 pm! Come learn about fire safety and the ins and outs of a fire truck!
