Summer Reading Program
The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is an opportunity for teenagers to voice their ideas and opinions regarding library programs. Participation can be used for community service hours.
You don't need a library card to participate in this meeting. You also do not need to register, just show up!
Ages 14-18.

Join us in this very popular and relaxing craft activity. Diamond painting involves applying tiny resin rhinestones to a pre-printed canvas to create a mosaic-style art piece. Beginners are welcome and you will be able to create a dinosaur or camping magnet.
All supplies are provided.

What you'll learn:
- Effective self defense moves for real-life situations
- How to improve awareness and avoid danger
- Confidence-building techniques
- Simple but powerful strategies for any skill level
Adults, ages 18 & up, are invited to join us for a special after hours mystery, set at a magical school that is very similar to Hogwarts. Attendees can choose to be a guest, or to be a participant in the mystery. There will be a brief lesson for beginners at the beginning of the session. Each class go over the following:
- How each chess pieces move
- Chess rules
- Review how to use a chess clock
- How to use notation
- How to set up the chess board
- Discuss special moves
- Describe check and checkmate
- Review chess principals
- Cover minor tactics
- Discuss end game principals
- Then members will get a chance to play each other

Like plants? Want to relax and do some painting? Join us as we paint a dinosaur planter and add a beautiful succulent to it for our Summer Reading dinosaur themed program.
This program is for teens and adults.
All supplies will be provided. Registration is needed to guarantee supplies. Program sponsored by the Northwest Friends of the Library organization.
A guest from Commissioner Tom Ramsey's office will read The Little Blue Truck Makes a Friend by Alice Schertle.
Tickets will be provided 30 minutes before all programs at the information desk. Must be present to get a ticket. Space is limited.
