Looking to refresh your homeschool resources? Join us at the Barbara Bush Branch Bi-Annual Homeschool Curriculum Swap! Swap gently used curriculum, share ideas with fellow homeschoolers, and find new materials for the upcoming school year.

As we continue our efforts to welcome our growing homeschool families and groups, the idea of a curriculum swap has come to our attention. We loved it! What a great opportunity to provide a space to share resources and continue our mission of access to information for all! It's what libraries are built to do.

This game is like if Cards Against Humanity (family version, of course) and your favorite book had a child. Draw a category card, grab a book, and then quickly skim to satisfy the chosen prompt (and the judge!) with the most entertaining phrase. Can you find "a ridiculous tabloid headline" in that best-selling novel? How about “dating advice” in your well-worn cookbook? Since you can use any book, you can play with any group and find limitless potential on every page! This orientation session is intended for teen volunteers and a completed, intact, and ready application packet is required to be admitted to the orientation.  To apply to be a teen volunteer at the HCPL-West University Branch Library, applicants must: complete a printed copy of the application packet, ( LINK TO APPLICATION PACKET HERE )be between the ages of 15-18, have their guardian’s permission, attend one orientation session.

Teens! Need service hours? Wanting to support and show up for the community? Pick up your volunteer application packet the last week of every month to attend the volunteer orientation. Apply to be a volunteer at the library this summer, and help support the community for Summer Reading Program at the HCPL-West U. Branch Library! Ages 8+
