Seniors 55+ are invited to join the Maud Marks Library’s Timeless Travelers program for a trip to the Sam Houston Boat Tour. Embarking from Port Houston’s Sam Houston Landing, visiting sightseers aboard the M/V Sam Houston can enjoy passing views of international cargo vessels and operations at the port’s Turning Basin Terminal. The 95-ft. vessel holds up to 100 passengers and features air-conditioned lounge seating. The bus will be departing on Tuesday, August 18th.

This is a free 10 week course to prepare students for the 128 question United States Citizenship exam. Individuals must register for the program in person, and commit to all 10 classes. Classes are in ENGLISH and study materials are provided by us. Following the 10 weeks, students will participate in an 1-1 Mock Interview with the instructor.

For this program, we will learn some history about the connection between Mexico and the Philippines in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month and Filipino American History Month. Enjoy some champorado, the Filipino version of the Mexican beverage champurrado while we do some crafts.
