Each month, library staff with expertise in history will give a talk about different topics in American history to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America. This month, celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by learning all about Mexican Americans' efforts to secure civil rights, equality, and justice.

Registration is required. To assist as many individuals as possible, you may only register for one appointment per week. If no one arrives by 2:00, the appointment will be canceled.Introduce books you have already read and want to share with others. Listen to recommendations.

ESL Classes (Various Levels)
All of HCPL English-learning classes are taught by trained volunteer tutors and are completely free to attend. Learning materials are provided.
Beginner ESL Classes for Adults who speak little or no English. You will practice speaking, reading, writing and listening.
Advanced ESL Classes & Conversation Club for Adults who want to reach fluency in English. Practice speaking, reading, writing and listening with native speakers in a nonjudgmental environment.
