West University Library is going to the dogs! Join us the first Saturday of every month for our program designed to help reluctant or shy readers gain confidence, with the help of some very good dogs. Paws for Therapy will provide trained therapy dogs, ready to help your child practice their reading! Each participant will get 15 minutes to read a book of their choice to a friendly, non-judgemental dog. It’s guaranteed to be a doggone good time.
Join us for a craft time for our youngest artists! This activity is intended for children ages 2 and up.
Registration is strongly encouraged, so we can get a head count -- we want to have enough materials for everyone who wants to join in on the fun! Depending on weather and mess level, this program will either be outside the library or in the children's section upstairs.
"Hojalata" refers to Mexican tin art, a traditional folk art form that involves creating decorative and functional objects from tin sheets. Join us this Saturday to learn more about this technique and create your own beautiful tin foil art.
Join us for a Maker program at the Stratford Branch Library. Every other week will introduce a different maker & stem activity for the whole family to enjoy.
Join us for fun stories, rhymes, fingerplays, and songs for the whole family. We introduce concepts that prepare your child for learning once they enter school. Learn with us and have fun practicing at home!

In this biographical drama, Selena Quintanilla (Jennifer Lopez) is born into a musical Mexican-American family in Texas. Her father, Abraham (Edward James Olmos), realizes that his young daughter is talented and begins performing with her at small venues. She finds success and falls for her guitarist, Chris Perez (Jon Seda), who draws the ire of her father. Seeking mainstream stardom, Selena begins recording an English-language album which, tragically, she would never complete.
