Are you ready to learn English? Are you looking for a way to improve your English conversation skills? 

Classes are free and all materials are provided. Pre-registration is required before anyone can attend. To register for class, fill out the registration form, email us at pw@hcpl.net, or call the branch at 832-927-7870. Our Literacy Coordinator will help determine the right class for you and check to see if there are any open spaces available.

Join us at the Parker Williams Library for our diamond painting club meeting! Relax, chat and enjoy this beginner friendly adult club. Diamond painting is a craft activity that involves applying tiny resin rhinestones to a pre-printed canvas to create a mosaic-style art piece. It's also known as crystal art or 5D painting.

This craft is a series since diamond painting may take some time. Patrons must finish a painting before they will be allowed to start a new one.

“Gulf Coast Reads: On the Same Page is an annual regional reading initiative focused on promoting the simultaneous reading or listening to a selected title by those living along the upper Texas Gulf Coast. The reading initiative’s goal is to encourage our communities to read the same title during the month of October in order to encourage readers to come together in discussions about it with neighbors, co-workers, friends and their families, as well as in classrooms and in libraries throughout the region” - Gulf Coast Reads

Join us at the Parker Williams Library Innovation Lab for our Sublimation + Cricut Orientation!

This orientation session will introduce participants to the Sublimation + Cricut services we offer at the library. Those who complete the orientation will then be able to request supervised time to use a Sublimation Printer or Cricut at any HCPL branch that has one. Attending this orientation is mandatory before patrons can request time to use the equipment in the future.

El libro del club es 'El Fantasma de Canterville' de Oscar Wilde. Oscar Wilde fue un escritor, poeta y dramaturgo irlandes, conocido por su ingenio y elegancia. Comenzo a publicar poemas y escribir obras de teatro y cuentos.

Alebrijes are spirits that guide, accompany, and protect us throughout our lives. A vivid representative of Mexican and Oaxacan folk art that is traditionally carved from copal wood, painted with exquisite detail, and vibrant colors.

In this craft, we will make and decorate our own alebrijes out of paper! Use them as a bookmark! All ages are welcome. 

Materials provided: crayons, markers, stickers and construction paper.
