Is you child struggling to read? Join us on the third Thursday of each month for Pawsome Readers, a beginning reading program where participants practice their reading skills with licensed therapy dogs.

GRADES 1 - 5 

REGISTRATION REQUIRED

Join us on Thursday, January 8, 2026 from 4:30-5:30pm for Lego Club here at the Fairbanks Branch Library! We will have Legos, mega blocks and magna tiles to build with. Come have fun! This program is for ages 6-11 but siblings are always welcome. We will meet inside the meeting room.

This program is normally held on the first Thursday of every month, but it's different for January due to the New Year's Day holiday. We're holding it on January 8th instead.

The Children's Museum of Houston has prepared workshops for you!

This Para Los Niños workshop includes learning activities to use at home related to the theme Raising a reader.
This program is appropriate for families with children ages 8 and younger (and older siblings too!)

Completion of a program survey is required to receive a Children's Museum pass for up to six people.

Join us for Toddler Story Time, an early literacy program where we share stories, songs, and rhymes! This program is for children ages 18 months to 3 years old and their caregivers. 

Join us at a special Homeschool Hangout featuring a new interactive work co-produced by Brave Little Company and Stages!

You have a role to play in this wild winter adventure! On the darkest night of the year, children must beware the Snow Queen – and when a boy vanishes from his village, his best friend is the only one who can rescue him. And she needs your help on her quest to stop the Snow Queen! You’ll help our heroine decide what happens next, join in the song, and bring the best friends back together.
