Bring your broken items to our Repair Café, where various volunteer repair coaches are on hand to help repair your items free of charge. We have tools and commonly needed materials on hand during the event. We cannot guarantee that we will be able to fix everything, but we are pretty sure you will have a good time while you are here. Join us for a craft time for our youngest artists! This activity is intended for children ages 2 and up.
Registration is strongly encouraged, so we can get a head count -- we want to have enough materials for everyone who wants to join in on the fun! Depending on weather and mess level, this program will either be outside the library or in the children's section upstairs.
Do you have a child in kindergarten through 3rd grade who loves stories—or one who could use a little extra reading support?
Harris County Public Library’s Book Buddies is a FREE, fun-filled literacy program that pairs enthusiastic, trained teen volunteers (our amazing Big Buddies) with younger readers (Little Buddies) for 10 weeks of reading adventures!
We learn that it is not a good idea to clone dinosaurs and put them in a park in this 90's movie classic directed by Steven Spielberg. The movie is PG-13 but kids are welcome to attend while accompanied with their parent or guardian.
Join us for some family friendly fun! Each month we will be showing a family friendly movie and at the end there will be a chance to vote for next months showing. Popcorn will be provided.

Join us for our weekly homeschool meet up, where kids can engage in STEAM activities such as building challenges, fiber art crafts, science experiments, process art, games, and more, all while having fun and socializing. Parents/caregivers are welcome to join each other in the library for an informational session and networking.
*Recommended for children ages 5-11, under 5 must have an accompanying adult.
This story time includes stories, songs, and activities. Children are invited to wear their pajamas and bring a favorite blanket or stuffed animal! Surprise! Each child may choose one free book at the end of the program!
Tickets are required for this program. They are free and available 30 minutes before the program begins in the Children’s Department. .
