Recommended for school-age children ages 5-12. This program that provides children an opportunity to explore their creativity as they craft a variety of different projects. Every week will include something new for them to create.
Elementary
We may not have snow often in Houston, but you can make up for it by creating a beautiful snowflake suncatcher! We will supply everything you need for a colorful "snowstorm" of art.
Join Michael, Octavia Field's Children's Librarian, for an afternoon of making portraits of that long lost rabbit, fox or horse uncle or aunt that looks great in a polka dot sweater. We will use paint, makers, hole punched shapes and recycled cardboard egg cartons to make our masterpieces. Ages 6-12.

Stop by our slime assembly line to create your own intergalactic goo. This program is for grades K through 5th. It will be hosted outside, weather permitting.
Looking for homework help? Come on in to your local library to find the resources you need for success! Aldine Library will offer a quiet space for teens and kids on Thursdays @ 5:30 PM. Librarians will be on hand to provide assistance.

Join us in celebrating Native American Heritage Month with Young Audiences of Houston instructor Marsha Dorsey Outlaw! She will be showing us how to make Ojo de Dios, a traditional fiber art that is rooted in the Huichol culture of Mexico and Pueblo peoples of the Southwest. We invite everyone ages 7+ to explore its cultural significance through a relaxing weaving process while creating unique designs.

This workshop with Young Audiences of Houston teaching artist Danny Russo introduces participants to a versatile printing process utilized by visual artists worldwide. The printing technique allows participants to quickly and easily make multiple images of original art. Countless ink and paper color choices are possible; participants will be amazed by how quickly and easily they learn to make stunning prints.
