Join us at the Barbara Bush Branch Library for our special therapy dog reading sessions! We’re happy our furry best friends are here with us to help our struggling or shy readers gain confidence.
This program is recommended for ages 6 to 12. Tickets are available at the Children's desk 15 minutes before the start of the event. Capacity is limited, so please pick up a ticket before visiting with the best good boys.
Is you child struggling to read? Join us on the third Thursday of each month for Pawsome Readers, a beginning reading program where participants practice their reading skills with licensed therapy dogs.

Have you ever sculpted anything? Join Octavia Fields Library's Children's Librarian, Michael, for a day sculpting masterpieces with air dry clay. This is an excellent class for accomplished and novice artists. (Ages 6-11)

Join Michael, Octavia Field Library's Children's Librarian, for a day of science. Mix, measure and learn how to make your own bouncing ball. Fun will be had by all. (Ages 6-11)
On this swashbuckling Minecraft adventure, kids join their pirate crew to team up. We’ll see which group of young pirates can find the most treasure while exploring sailing ships, the harbor village, and a massive island. It’s a thrill-seeking 1.5-hour coding event for kids ages 7-12.
Join us for arts, crafts, and STEM projects each Wednesday at 4:30pm. This program is for K-5th graders. All materials provided.

Recommended for school-age children ages 5-12. These programs are designed to engage children in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) activities and change on a monthly basis.
Tickets are required for all programs unless otherwise noted. They are free and available starting 30 minutes before the program begins at the Children’s Information Desk. Tickets are limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Book Buddies is a free program that helps children develop a lifelong love of reading! Trained volunteers (Big Buddies) are paired with children in Kindergarten through 3rd grade (Little Buddies) for this 10-week program.
Registration for the Spring 2025 Book Buddies session is full. Applications for the Fall 2025 session will open in September.
