Summer Reading Program

Attention: We are seeking budding artists AGES 4 to 8 years old, to draw portraits of Senior Adults. Each child will be paired with a Senior adult for an hour's time and asked to draw their model. Afterwards, the portraits will be displayed in the library window with the first name of the model and the initials of the artist. Materials will be provided.

Join us July 14th-17th, from 10 AM to 12 PM, for an art camp presented by the Museum of Fine Arts Houston! This event is free and requires registration and a commitment to attend the entire week. 

Friday, the final day, includes a trip to the museum. A parent or guardian must attend the museum trip with their child. Applications are available now. Further instructions will be provided. Make sure to swing by to pick up an application!

THERE ARE ONLY 16 SPOTS AVAILABLE. AGES 7-12 ONLY.

Join us in the Meeting room for our Anime and Manga Craft Fest!

 Join us and make your very own DIY craft. We’ll have stations set up where you can create your own bookmark, keychain, or button pin.

This is a program for ages 12-17, 18 if in High School.

To celebrate the end of the Summer Reading Program and all the ways we brightened our world, we're having our first ever Foam Party! There will be music, dancing, and of course, foam to play in. We're so excited and we hope you are too. See you here!

Join us for a very special story time as Harris County Public Library celebrates the 100th birthday of former First Lady Barbara Bush! Mrs. Bush was a passionate supporter of literacy for all and her namesake foundation, the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation, is an integral part of uspporting and funding many early literacy programs, including our Family Place Library!

We will have a birthday theme story time, complete with stories, songs, treats and a birthday crown craft. There will be presents too: each child will get to take home a free book while supplies last!
