Family Place Workshop is an early literacy program that highlights learning through play. During this five-week workshop, parents/caregivers and their toddlers ages 1-3 years, will have the opportunity to participate in play-based learning. Each week of the workshop will also feature a resource professional to answer questions on topics including literacy, child development, nutrition, and speech and language development.

Join the Maud Marks Library on Tuesdays @ 11:15AM for some Explorer Time!

Preschool Explorer Time is sensory play that encourages learning through exploration, curiosity, problem solving and creativity.

This 30 minute session will be every Tuesdays for ages 3-5 as children will get a chance to explore with fun activities that are good for the development of their language and motor skills!

Join us every Tuesday at 10:30 am for stories, songs, fingerplays and crafts using best practices of the Every Child Ready to Read program. You and your children will have fun while honing skills necessary to be ready to read!

Promotes early literacy skills. The program features reading, singing, talking, writing and playing. We will help give you the resources you need to expand your child’s skills, preparing them to read. Recommended for children ages 2-5 years, it features age appropriate stories, songs, and fingerplays. Story time is an excellent way to bond with your child, boost their vocabulary, and hopefully raise a lifelong reader. Studies have shown that regularly reading to your child can increase their attention span, boost their emotional intelligence, and flex their imagination.

Join us every Wednesday at 10:30 am for songs, stories and fingerplays designed to develop your child's early literacy skills. Plus there is plenty of time for the children to play and for caregivers to socialize. Fun for  toddlers and their caregivers!

Enjoy some time to bond with your baby and meet new friends. This program is for babies and will feature lap-sit stories, songs, activities and time to socialize with others. Story time is an excellent way to bond with your child, boost their vocabulary, and hopefully raise a lifelong reader. A free ticket is required and can be picked up at the information desk 30 minutes prior to the program.

This story time includes stories, songs, and activities. Children are invited to wear their pajamas and bring a favorite blanket or stuffed animal! Surprise! Each child may choose one free book at the end of the program!

Tickets are required for this program. They are free and available 30 minutes before the program begins in the Children’s Department. .
