Each week, we build early literacy skills through the five essential practices: sing, talk, read, write, and play. These simple, everyday activities support language development, spark creativity, and boost comprehension, while also laying a strong foundation for future STEAM learning (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math).
We’re looking for dedicated and responsible teens to make meaningful contributions to this vital part of the Atascocita community. As VolunTEENs, you’ll play a key role in supporting library programs and services—your time, energy, and enthusiasm make a lasting impact on the people we serve.
VolunTEENs may be asked to:
Create and decorate your own Joy Jar! Throughout the year, jot down joyful moments, happy highlights, small wins, surprise gifts, accomplished goals, funny moments, or memories worth saving. Add them to your jar anytime something good happens.
On New Year’s Eve, open your jar and enjoy a reminder of all the good things that happened in 2026.

If so, hang out with us and Level Up Your Life Skills. We will chat about goal setting, creating new habits, and of course, try some awesome snacks. We will have journaling supplies on hand along with supplies to create a vision board if you feel like it.
