Paws For Therapy “Read to a Dog”

Join us from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM in the Children’s section of the library. “Paws for Therapy” is a group of volunteers in the Houston area who enjoy sharing their trained therapy dogs with those in need of love and comfort. Reading can be hard, so kids, ages 5-11 can get comfortable and practice their reading skills with a trained therapy dog.

Join us for our 3D Printer Orientation!

This orientation session will instruct participants on using the 3D printer in the library . Those who complete the class will then be able to request time to use a 3D printer at HCPL branches, at which time they will complete a short machine-specific orientation at the location of their choice. Attending this orientation is mandatory before patrons can request time to use a 3D printer. Attendees will receive the 3D printer and Dremel 3D45 badges in Beanstack upon completion of orientation.

Join us for a free, 12-week class to help you prepare for your naturalization interview and civics test. An English assessment must be taken for class admittance. Taking this class does not grant citizenship or pay for any application fees. Registration is required as space is limited.

Toddler Time uses age-appropriate stories, songs and finger plays to engage toddlers and their parents/caregivers. This story time is geared towards toddlers ages 18-35 months. No ticket required.

From September 3 to October 1, the Patty Cake Baby Story Time will be replaced by our Play and Grow Family Place Workshops. Patty Cake Baby Story Time will return on Wednesday, October 8.
