Do you have a child in kindergarten through 3rd grade who loves stories—or one who could use a little extra reading support? Harris County Public Library’s Book Buddies is a FREE, fun-filled literacy program that pairs enthusiastic, trained teen volunteers (our amazing Big Buddies) with younger readers (Little Buddies) for 10 weeks of reading adventures!
Aldine Branch Library
Play and Grow Family Place Workshop🧩 Taller familiar "Jugar y crecer"💡
This series is an early literacy program that highlights learning through play.
During this five-week workshop, parents/caregivers will have access to a resource professional to answer questions on topics including literacy, child development, nutrition, and speech and language development.
These will be child-led sessions in which families play with various passive toys and stations.
Join us for a free class to help you prepare for your naturalization interview and civics test. You must complete an English placement assessment to join the class. Taking this class will not grant citizenship or pay for any application fees. Registration is required as space is limited.
Let's get creative at this special afternoon at Aldine!
We're having multiple sessions for slime. This program is appropriate for children ages 5+ or Kinder and up. Tickets are required to participate. We will hand out tickets 30 minutes before the program starts.
Session 1: 2:00-2:45
Session 2: 4:00-4:45
Session 3: 5:00-5:45
Each session has a limit of 15 kids.
(This is a great opportunity for kids to work on essential life skills like sharing, reading instructions, cutting, gluing, and working in a group.)
Join us at Aldine for a cartoon marathon! Talk about your favorite series and characters with others and watch a show you haven’t seen before.
Snacks will be provided.
This program is best for 6th-9th graders
