🌟 Calling All Teens! 🌟

Are you in 7th–12th grade and looking for a fun, meaningful way to earn volunteer hours and make a difference? Become a Big Buddy at Aldine Branch Library!

As a Big Buddy, you’ll be paired with a child in kindergarten through 3rd grade (a Little Buddy) for 10 weeks of shared reading and mentorship. It’s a great way to build leadership skills, connect with your community, and inspire a love of reading in a younger student.

Lewis Carroll literary classic is magically brought to life in this 45 minute adventure. Join Alice on her journey into the rabbit hole, packed with some eccentric and fantastical characters who take your audience on an imaginative ride. Since 1865 this literary classic has been a favorite among young readers and we can’t wait to bring it to life. Join the Queen of Hearts, the Cheshire Cat, the Mad Hatter and Alice on this adventure in Wonderland. (PK-Adult)

Join us for a free, 12-week class to help you prepare for your naturalization interview and civics test. An English placement test must be passed for class admittance. Students must commit to attending all classes. Taking this class does not grant citizenship or pay for any application fees. Registration is required as space is limited.

What’s a zine you ask? It’s a pocket-size booklet made from one (1) piece of paper. Your zine can be about anything you want: dinosaurs, things you’d name a cat, constellations, or anything else you can think of. Join Ms. Gage to learn how to make your own zine about anything your heart desires!

Snacks will be provided.

A musical performance of “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” performed by DACAMERA Young Artists. 

DACAMERA Music Encounters have been developed as part of an initiative that brings classical music and jazz into communities throughout Houston, connecting music with the core curriculum.

The children will learn about composers and musical motives, identify the parts of the insect (butterfly) life cycle, and apply their understanding to create a butterfly ballet. Recommended for young learners in K to 1st grade
