Express Children's Theatre presents AN ART CLASS FOR KIDS WITH FRIDA KAHLO!. Thanks to a time-bending twist, the iconic artist Frida Kahlo will travel from 1940s Mexico to lead an art class for JC families! Materials will include crayons and colored pencils and everyone will get a chance to make self-portraits and learn about Frida in the process.

Great for all ages!

Join us for a free, 12-week class to help you prepare for your naturalization interview and civics test. An English placement test must be passed for class admittance. Students must commit to attending all classes. Taking this class does not grant citizenship or pay for any application fees. Registration is required as space is limited.

Join us for Bilingual Storytime at Jacinto Library Branch for weekly storytime fun!


Bilingual Storytime uses songs, age appropriate stories, and crafts/playtime to engage children and their parents/caregivers.

This program is designed to help promote early literacy skills, support your bond with your child(ren), and hopefully turn your little reader into a life-long reader!

We look forward to seeing you!

Recommended for children between the ages of 2-5 yrs.

Join us this summer every other Tuesday at 4:45 to create and build with LEGOs!
We will have the option of LEGO challenges or free build during our building session. At the end of our session you can share and display your creations at the JC Library for the month. 

*This program is for ages 6-12 but siblings are always welcome.

The Houston Ballet is back for the Summer at the JC Library! Come ready to move and dance for the Move and Read Aloud Program brought to the JC Library by the Houston Ballet! Dance to Learn is a movement integration program that approaches academic curriculum from a kinesthetic perspective. A storytime format, but with LOTS more movement and dancing!

* program runs for 9 weeks starting June 2nd, registration is required

*intended for PK-2nd, siblings welcome!
