The Next Chapter Feature Film Series (FFS) continues Thursday, March 20 at 10:15 AM. We look forward to showing The Bookshop, the 2017 period piece set in 1959 England. Rated PG, The Bookshop lasts 1 hour, 53 minutes. This film stars Emily Mortimer, Bill Nighy, Hunter Tremayne, Honor Kneafsey, and Frances Barber and includes Close Captions. The Bookshop will be made available to us through our Kanopy license.

This story time includes stories, songs, and activities. Children are invited to wear their pajamas and bring a favorite blanket or stuffed animal! Surprise! Each child may choose one free book at the end of the program!
Tickets are required for this program. They are free and available 30 minutes before the program begins in the Children’s Department. .
On behalf of Harris County Universal Services Department, I would like to welcome you to Computer Basics, the first class in our “Growing Digitally with US” Basic Digital Training & Assistance series. Universal Services serves as the solutions center for county departments and offices by providing IT and technology services.
This program is recommended for babies aged 0-18 months, accompanied by a parent or caregiver. It includes age-appropriate stories, rhymes, bounces, and songs that lay the foundation for reading. Children will also develop sensory, fine motor, and social skills through playtime.
Recommended for children 3 to 5 years old. This program is designed for children who are ready to calmly listen to stories in addition to enjoying songs, fingerplays and action rhymes.
This orientation session will introduce participants to 3D printing in the library. This orientation session is mandatory before patrons can schedule time to use a 3D printer.
This event is open to children of all ages. Firefighters from the Houston Fire Department will bring their fire truck to the library parking lot on the Diana Lane side. Kids will be able to meet the firefighters and explore the fire truck.
We will provide activity packs and firefighter helmets for every child attending this program.
Are you up for a challenge? Come build and decorate your own cone to make pom poms float and see who can fly them the highest.
Do you want to get your hands on art supplies and just create SOMETHING? This is the program for you!
This event is a no-registration, come as you are event. We will use cardstock and bits and bobbles to create ugly art! There will be no rhyme or reason and no instruction.
You may ask the Lead to help you if you want input.
All materials provided unless you want to bring something from home to work on.
