Join us on Tuesday, October 7th at 4:30pm to listen to Charlotte Swim, a high school student and published teen author, read her comic, The Code of Life, a teen-friendly story exploring the ethics and science of genetic engineering. Learn about the process of writing and publishing your own book. Participate in a craft project to start your own comic.

This program is for ages 12-18.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with a new recipe! Join us on an educational journey through Latin American heritage while tasting delicious food. HCPL has partnered with Oldways to present classes on how to eat healthy by following a traditional Latin American diet.

In this class, Esteban will teach you how to make the recipe Panama Smoothies using fresh mango and banana and to make Jicama Sticks with Chile Lime—a refreshing and zesty snack. Esteban will prepare these foods for everyone to share.

Have you ever felt like a spooky picture was following you with it's eyes?  Come craft one at the library!  Teens and tweens, grades 4th-12th.  Due to early voting this event will take place in the public area of the library.

Join us as we celebrate Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) by creating personalized, themed Nicho boxes. Materials will be provided till supplies last.

Join us on Saturday, September 27 at 1 PM, as we host a special celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month at the library. The afternoon will begin with pan dulce (traditional Mexican sweet bread) and coffee, followed by an incredible live performance from Mariachi Calmecac at 1:30 PM. To top it all off, we’ll have a giveaway at the end of the program—so you’ll definitely want to stay until the very end! 🎶

This event is free and open to all ages, so gather your family and friends and save the date for a joyful celebration of culture, music, and community.

WHAT IS TAB?

The Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is a volunteer group engaged in library programming. Our mission is to empower teens through the creation, promotion and implementation of events at the High Meadows Branch Library.

Participation in TAB counts as service hours for any honor, scholar or religious organization. Meetings are held every other week.
