No experience needed—just bring your creativity and curiosity. Open to tweens and teens in 6th grade through 12th grade (ages 11-18).

Hey teens, did you know you could win $100 for reading books?
By joining Northwest Library’s team in the annual Tournament of Books competition, you have the chance to win a $100 grand prize! Open to highschoolers/homeschoolers across Harris County (age 14-18), Tournament of Books is a book club with a competitive twist. By working together with up to 4 friends, divide and conquer the reading list of 12 titles selected from the newest and brightest titles in Young Adult literature.

Book Buddies is a free program that brings children and teen volunteers together to share the joy of reading. It pairs trained volunteers (Big Buddies) with children in Kindergarten through 3rd grades (Little Buddies). For 10 weeks, the Buddies meet once a week in the afternoon for 45 minutes of one-on-one shared reading.

The Fall cycle of Book Buddies will run from September 18th to November 20th.  Reading sessions will be in the library meeting room.

Savvy Stitchers is a friendly group of crafters of all ages, getting together for fellowship while enjoying their creative hobbies. It is a great way to meet neighbors that have a mutual love for knitting, crocheting, needlepoint, quilting, or other crafts. We all love to learn something new!

Join each Thursday from 1:00 to 3:00PM.

Location: Katherine Tyra Branch Library at 16719 Clay Road, Houston TX 77084.

The Galveston Bay Area Scale Modelers Association (GBASMA) is a chartered member of the International Plastic Modelers Society (IPMS).. Club meetings are held monthly to present each other's current projects, share new modeling techniques, answer modeling questions and promote the hobby. We meet 6:30 PM - 7:45 PM on the 4th Monday of each month except for May(meets the week after) and December.(no meeting).  
Registration not required.

Looking for homework help? Come on in to your local library to find the resources you need for success! Aldine Library will offer a quiet space for teens and kids on Thursdays @ 5:30 PM. Librarians will be on hand to provide assistance.

Harris County Public Library offers a variety of free resources, including computers, printers, and access to special research websites available with your library card.

Note: Librarians will not do the homework nor can we guarantee any grades; this program is here to offer assistance answering questions.
