Save up your food scraps at home and bring it to Katherine Tyra Library @ Bear Creek every Thursday from 5-7 PM from October 30 through November 20.

In our parking lot, Zero Waste will collect the items for compost, which helps reduce landfill impact.

Developed by the Arthritis Foundation, this program has been proven to help people with arthritis engage in walking, stretching, and strengthening exercises to reduce pain, increase balance and strength, and build confidence in their ability to be physically active. 

This program is available for people 60 years of age and older with arthritis.

The Early Learning Quality Network (ELQN) invites families to a special Movie Night at the Barbara Bush Library, designed to bring children, parents, and community members together for an evening of fun and connection. Families will enjoy a showing of Frozen (runtime: 1 hour and 42 minutes), along with food, a coloring table for kids, and a designated baby corner to ensure a welcoming space for all ages.

Learn the basics of painting with acrylic as teacher and local artist, Malu, walks you through the steps to create your own vibrant wall art. This is a beginner-friendly class for adults. Registration is required as supplies are limited.

Join us at the Parker Williams Library for our diamond painting club meeting! Relax, chat and enjoy this beginner friendly adult club. Diamond painting is a craft activity that involves applying tiny resin rhinestones to a pre-printed canvas to create a mosaic-style art piece. It's also known as crystal art or 5D painting.

This craft is a series since diamond painting may take some time. Patrons must finish a painting before they will be allowed to start a new one.

Join us for Adult Literacy Open House! On this day, new students and interested adults can come learn more about HCPL's adult literacy program, and meet our volunteer ESL and Citizenship tutors. We will host an award ceremony to celebrate our graduating students as well as give a gift to our volunteer tutors. All ages are welcome!

Join us at the Parker Williams Library Innovation Lab for our 3D Printer Orientation!

This orientation session will introduce participants to the 3D printing services we offer at the library. Those who complete the orientation will then be able to request supervised time to use a 3D printer at any HCPL branch that has one. Attending this orientation is mandatory before patrons can request time to use a 3D printer in the future.

This event is open to all ages. Children ages 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult guardian.
