Senior Adults
The participants will complete the ELQN survey and receive a gift card of $50 on site. Gift cards will be given to the first two hundred (200) people who complete the survey. Individuals must be over the age of 18 and are only eligible for one gift card upon completion of the survey. Multiple adults from the same household will be eligible for gift cards for individual completion of the survey.
Join us for a free, 12-week class to help you prepare for your naturalization interview and civics test. An English assessment must be taken for class admittance. Taking this class does not grant citizenship or pay for any application fees. Registration is required as space is limited.
Watercolor for “Young at heART” adults meets every Tuesday morning to enjoy watercolor painting while commiserating with fellow artists! This friendly and social group is open to all adults and to all levels of art experience, including those who have never painted with watercolor at all. Sometimes the group works on individual projects and sometimes there is an art education period. Sometimes you will learn something new and sometimes you can teach something to others. Join in for a morning of beautiful art and fun conversation!
Nurture your strength and mental health with Tai Chi at Parker Williams Library!
Often described as 'meditation in motion', Tai Chi is a low-impact, slow-motion exercise that helps to strengthen your muscles and relax your mind.
This free class is for adults (18 and older) who are intermediate or advanced English learners. The main focus is on speaking, but you will also practice listening, reading, and writing.
All materials are provided.
Time: 4:30 PM – 5:30 PM
How to Join:
You must register.Visit the library to sign up and take a short test.Do you need help with technology? Book a 45-minute appointment with a staff member, we will try to help you figure it out!
Registration is required. To assist as many individuals as possible, you may only register for one appointment per week. If no one arrives by 7:00, the appointment will be canceled.Developed by the Arthritis Foundation, this program has been proven to help people with arthritis engage in walking, stretching, and strengthening exercises to reduce pain, increase balance and strength, and build confidence in their ability to be physically active.
This program is available for people 60 years of age and older with arthritis.
