Let's harness the power of the hot Texas sun to make beautiful dyed fabric! Join us for this immersive hands-on workshop and watch the ice melt and carry the dye through your fabric. Everyone will make their own custom-dyed tea towel. All material provided.

Registration will open June 14, 10am.

Registration and attendance for adult patrons (ages 18+).

This story time includes stories, songs, and activities. Children are invited to wear their pajamas and bring a favorite blanket or stuffed animal! Surprise! Each child may choose one free book at the end of the program!

Tickets are required for this program. They are free and available 30 minutes before the program begins in the Children’s Department. .

Eco Art is a free 2 hour workshop for registered children going into 1st through 5th grade. Presented by Artist Boat of Galveston, this workshop incorporates art and science into the class. Space is limited and registration is required.

Join us for the Great Park Adventure – a summer-long journey of discovery, nature, and fun! We’ll begin our adventure at the JC Library before heading outdoors to explore one of the parks nearest to our community. Each session, children will learn about the importance of parks in preserving nature, conserving biodiversity, and providing spaces for recreation and learning.

Special guests from Texas A&M Forest Service, Bayou Preservation Association, Lake Sheldon State Park, and Big Bend National Park will help guide our exploration!

Join us for a one-shot campaign to learn game play basics in a collaborative and fun environment! No registration is required and snacks will be provided.

NOTE: this is a young adult program and is aimed at ages 13 through 18. Content may not be appropriate for younger children. Children under age 13 may attend at their parent or guardian's discretion.
