Love playing the Pokémon card game and discussing all things Pokémon with fellow fans? Join the Pokémon League every first and third Saturday, sponsored by the Magnolia City Pokémon Gym. Bring your favorite deck, play the card game with other fans, trade cards in a controlled environment, and talk all things strategy. This event is open to all ages and skill levels.

Join us for a very special story time as Harris County Public Library celebrates the 100th birthday of former First Lady Barbara Bush! Mrs. Bush was a passionate supporter of literacy for all and her namesake foundation, the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation, is an integral part of supporting and funding many early literacy programs, including our Family Place Library! 

At this special story time join with other preschoolers and parents/caregivers for stories, songs, and stay & make craft time.

Participants bring their own lunch to enjoy (optional!) while watching genealogy how-to webinars presented by experts in the field, then discuss how to apply the knowledge gained in their own research.  The topic of each session will be decided shortly prior to the start of the program, based on input from the participants.

Come and join other English language learners in a conversational group setting. Focus on everyday Conversations. Basic, common conversational interactions used in daily life. Build confidence in speaking and understanding English in casual settings, work, and other social interactions. Do all this while meeting other people that are English language learners in your community in an engaging and welcoming setting.

Join us for LEGO Create, a program where kids free build with LEGO, or complete simple building challenges!

This program is for kids ages 5-12 and is limited to 25 children. Registration is required and begins one week in advance.

Want to learn how to speak Spanish? Pull up a chair and join us in the Teen Space to learn little by little! In this class, we will cover the alphabet, numbers, greetings, and other basic phrases.

This is a program for ages 12-17, 18 if in High school.

Join with other preschoolers and parents/caregivers for weekly story time fun! Preschool Story Time uses age appropriate stories, songs and finger plays, and a take-home craft to engage preschoolers and their parents/caregivers. This story time is geared towards kids ages 3-5 years.

Tickets are required and will be handed out at the Children's Desk starting 30 minutes prior. Children must have a ticket to attend Preschool Story Time.
